Kiyoko was never found of festivals, but this one just happened to be in the night, which was the only time she truly felt comfortable. Grabbing her "Oni" mask, she gently repositioned it on her slender face to make it much more comfortable. It was easy for people to say that she was heartless, and cold, but that mask gave her the security she needed to talk to people. Putting on her families ceremonial colors of white and gold, the young swordsman found herself gently moving towards the gates of the village, always living slightly further from the town.
It was easy to see the village that very night, lanterns all ready lit and glowing the night sky up with the beautiful orange hue. Children running around and laughing, adults loosening up for once in their life for a night of pure bliss. It was obvious that the air was a lot lighter than it had been lately, even though it's been years after the war. Then marked the 5th year since the war, even if it wasn't always a time of peace lately - it was better than it has been for months, years maybe.
Times were slow for her missions, lately she's been on edge which creates this hostile aura. Many of the people around her had decided it would be better to leave her be then, but all she really wanted deep down was for someone to just talk to her. She was reserved, but full of stories and wisdom that people might find useful and knowledgeable. She knew what she was talking about, or at least would like to think she did.
By the time her thoughts were finished, she happened to be in the center of the town. The sound bringing her back to reality. Looking around, she decided the ramen stand wasn't that crowded. Moving over and sitting at one of the booths, she ordered her usual order before turning in her chair and became entranced with the lanterns.

Mara was helping out at the Ramen stand, filling in for one of the elders that had a summer cold. She wasn't much for dressing up and frankly wanted to avoid the children her age. When the masked woman everyone seemed to be afraid came in, she moved over to take her order with a soft smile. "Good evening, Shinobi. Uh.. I'm Mara, I'm helping out tonight as part of volunteer work for extra credit. Well.. I mean its not the main reason I'm helping.. I just.. I'm sorry let me start over.. What do you usually order miss?" She blushed a bit about her offset social presence, and uneasy optimistic nature. Nevertheless she wasn't one to be intimidated by the jonins, or even anbu if she saw them, she felt safe when ever they were near.

Once her eye had met the younger worker, she realized that it might have been a student of hers. It was always weird to see people who she taught - but it was interesting at least to see people out of their normal atmosphere. Clearing her throat a bit, she decided exactly what she would want from the menu. "I'll have...Oh just the regular bowl, I'm not one for fancy things." She truly hoped her voice was deep enough not to be recognizable. She wasn't trying to intimidate her, more just make herself unrecognizable to the young shinobi. There was something about this girl, she just didn't know what..her face just looked so familiar. "Extra credit you say? So you must be in school? Or possibly going to be starting school at least?"

"Yes.. My name ia Mara Shiniyami.. At least.. thats the surname I was given since I came here.. The medical ninja felt it fitting since I was so close to death when I arrived. Although I wasn't too keen on turn of phrase.." Mara spoke freely almost as if she was talking to herself, or a very close friend while getting the customer's noodle bowl ready. She caught her given too much information for first meetings and bit her lip as if to scold her tongue. "I'm sorry.. I was talking to myself. Yes I am in fact a student. I will be attending as a Genin by the summers end. My name is Mara, and well.. I've been taking much of my courses in private since I'm not much of a social bird like my fellow peers.. anxiety I suppose." She stopped herself from stammering again as she filled the bowl effortlessly, not spilling a drop as she slid the dish to her customer. "Anbu's are free tonight sir." She smiled, partially wondering if this was one of the anbu that was familiar with her unique case.

It was, well, interesting to say the least. She seemed so willing to let a complete stranger know everything about her and yet, she was like a bird with it's wings clipped - holding back her thoughts. "It is rather difficult to find time in socializing...not everyone has the gift of being social. The goddess has cursed me with this everlasting feeling of my own mortality and ill-nature." The aura around her was gloomy once more, like a cloud ready to consume it's next prey but it quickly ended once the bowl reached her. Ramen was always peaceful to her, so relieving. "Thank you. Not every place is as giving as you are." Her tone seemed so, lifeless, but there was still some sort of life there, lingering as she waited for the correct time to lift her mask and consume. She was never one to show her face, especially not in this setting. "Well, Mara...I don't believe I've introduced myself...Kiyoshi Minami, it's a pleasure to meet you. I am a tutor and well...you know the rest." She never liked bringing up the fact she was anbu, it was a part of her past she always wanted to drop.

"Yes, Sensei Minami. I look forward to seeing you along my path to becoming a medical ninja." She smiled at the elder in question. "I understand anbu tend to make some people nervious.. but I want to say your presence makes me feel safe." Her words were in the air but her attention was on her task at hand. She paused just a moment as if to weigh out her words being too embracive.
Suddenly there was a clear cutting pop pop pop of fire crackers being misused by some kids just behind her shop that gave her a jump so much she nearly dropped a bowl. Giggling could be heard as the hooligans scurred, mission complete. "Oh my word.. I didn't expect that." Mara was more thankful it was none threatening instead of being upset over the terrible prank.
